B & B Relish
Title: B & B Relish Categories: Pickles Yield: 16 Servings 13 lb Green tomatoes; cut in -chunks 7 1/2 lb Onions; chopped 3 1/4 lb Green and red bell peppers; -chopped 6 Hot peppers (optional) 2 1/2 tb Salt 6 c Sugar 1 1/4 ts Black pepper (optional) 2 ts Mixed pickling spice; tied -in a cheesecloth bag 7 c Vinegar Put all ingredients in a large kettle. Stir well. Boil 15 minutes. Remove spice bag. Put in hot, sterile jars. Seal. Makes 16 pints. NOTE: For mild relish, use only 1 hot pepper and omit the black pepper. NOTE: Get a book on canning if unsure about sealing and processing.
