Title: Carrot Halva Categories: None Yield: 10 Servings 1 1/2 pt Milk 1 lb Carrots 1/2 c Sugar 1/4 c Ghee 1/4 c Blanched Almonds 1 oz Raisins 1/4 ts Cardamom 1) Peel and finely grate carrots 2) Grind the cardamon seeds 3) Pour milk into a saucepan, bring to the boil 4) Add carrots, cover and simmer for 30 minutes until soft 5) Add sugar and stir, until mixture thickens 6) Fry almonds in ghee, on a low heat for 5 minutes, until golden 7) Add almonds, cardamon, and raisins to mixture, stir and cook for 5 minutes 8) Can be served hot or cold Posted to Bakery-Shoppe Digest V1 #499 by "Terry Van Kirk" |
