Title: Cherry Nut Bread Categories: None Yield: 1 Servings 2 c Sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 ts Baking powder 1 ts Baking soda 1/2 ts Salt 1/4 c Shortening 1 c Brown sugar 1 Egg 3/4 c Buttermilk or sour cream 1/4 c Maraschino cherry juice 1/2 c Cherries; cut up 1/2 c Nuts; chopped Here is one of my favorite quick breads. It is from Favorite Recipes of America. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and mix well. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquid to creamed mixture; add cherries and nuts. Put in bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
