Chocolate Orange Glazed Doughnuts
Title: Chocolate Orange Glazed Doughnuts Categories: Dessert Yield: 24 Servings ---------------------------------DOUGHNUTS--------------------------------- 1 pk (11.5-oz) Nestle Toll House -milk chocolate morsels; -divided 3 1/2 c All-purpose flour 3 ts Baking powder 3/4 ts Salt 1/4 c Sugar 2 tb Vegetable oil 2 Eggs 1/2 c Milk 1 ts Grated orange rind 1 qt Vegetable oil -----------------------------------GLAZE----------------------------------- 1 c Nestle Toll House milk -chocolate morsels; reserved -from 11.5-oz package 1/4 c Corn syrup 1 tb Butter 1 tb Heavy cream Doughnuts: Melt over hot (not boiling) water, 1 cup Nestle Toll House milk chocolate morsels; stir until smooth. Set aside; cool to room temperature. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine sugar, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, eggs, milk and orange rind; mix well. Gradually add melted morsels and flour mixture; beat well. On lightly floured board, roll dough to 2/3-inch thickness. Cut with 3-inch round cookie cutter. Cut out centers with 3/4-inch round cookie cutter. Reroll remaining dough and cut out. In large heavy gauge saucepan, heat 1 quart vegetable oil over medium heat to 375 degrees. Fry doughnuts, a few at a time, 1 minute on each side. Doughnuts will rise to surface when they should be turned. Remove; place on paper towels to drain. Glaze: Combine over hot (not boiling) water, remaining 1 cup Nestle Toll House milk chocolate morsels' corn syrup, butter and heavy cream. Stir until morsels are melted.and mixture is smooth.
