Title: Crab Imperial Categories: Seafood Yield: 10 Servings Butter 2 tb Bell pepper; chopped 2 tb Pimiento; chopped 9 tb Flour 1 1/2 ts Salt 1 ds White pepper 1 ds Paprika 3 c Milk 3 md Egg yolks; beaten 1 1/2 ts Dry mustard 1/2 c Capers 1 tb Worcestershire sauce 6 tb Mayonnaise 3 lb Crab Date: Mon, 25 Mar 96 13:05:40 EST submitted by: tpogue@ids2.idsonline.com Recipe By : Jackie Teller Isn't this a wonderful old fashioned and much loved Maryland recipe for Crab Imperial. Once in awhile it's just worth the extra calories. Terry About an hour before serving: 1. Saute green pepper and pimiento in butter 3 to 5 minutes. 2. Make the white sauce. Heat the over to 350F. 3. Add rest of ingredients to white sauce except 1/2 of the mayonnaise. 4. Turn crabmeat mixture into well-greased 2 1/2 quart casserole. Spread top with the remaining 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Bake about 30 minutes.
