Title: Date Nut Bread #1 Categories: Bread Yield: 8 Servings 1 lb Dates; chopped 2 c Boiling water 1 Stick margarine 2 c Sugar 2 Eggs 1 ts Salt 1 ts Vanilla 1 tb Baking soda 4 c Flour 1/2 c Nuts Pour water over dates & cool. Mix margarine & sugar; beat in eggs, salt & vanilla. When dates are cool, add to sugar mixture. Then add baking soda, flour & nuts. Pour batter into clean vegetable or soup cans which have been greased well. Fill 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake for 45 minutes at 375. When cool, shake from cans & wrap with foil.
