Title: English Toffee #2 Categories: Candy Yield: 20 Servings 1 c Sugar 1/2 ts Salt 1 c Butter 1/4 c Water 1 c Chopped pecans 3 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips From: capco@norwich.net (Gourmet Connection) Date: 96-08-18 10:43:17 EDT In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, salt, butter, and water. Cook to hard-crack stage (300F), stirring constantly and watching temperature carefully. Immediately pour onto ungreased cookie sheet. Cool until hard. Melt chocolate over hot, but not boiling, water. Spread over toffee; sprinkle and press nuts into chocolate. Let set for 3 hours or chill for half an hour. Break into bite-size pieces.
