Title: German Rolls Categories: Desserts, Tried and t Yield: 21 Servings 4 c Flour; All-Purpose 1 c Shortening 2 tb Sugar 1 ts Salt 1 ts Baking Soda 2 ts Cream Of Tartar 3/4 c Skim Milk 3/4 c Water 1 lg Egg; beaten slightly 1 c Sugar; Brown 1/2 c Flour; All-Purpose 1/2 c Walnuts; chopped 1/2 c Raisins Mix 4 cup flour, shortening, sugar, salt, soda and cream of tarter with water and milk (may take a little more than the 1 cup liqud). Roll out dough in jelly roll fashion. FILLING - Mix together egg, brown sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Spread on rolled out dough. Roll up like a jelly roll and cut into 1" slices.
