Title: German Stew Categories: Main dish, Pasta, Stew, Meat Yield: 5 Servings 1 qt Basic Stew Mixture, *see -recipe 1/2 c Water 1/4 c Red wine vinegar 1 ts Salt 1 Beef bouillon cube, crushed 2 c Cabbage, shredded 1 c Peeled apples, shredded 1/2 c Ginger snaps, broken up 6 oz Egg noodles, cooked and -drained 1/2 ts Poppy seeds Combine stew, water, vinegar, salt, and bouillon cube; thaw, covered, over low heat, about 20 minutes. Add cabbage and apple; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add gingersnaps; cook and stir till thick. Toss noodles with poppy seed; serve with stew.
