Title: Heavenly Orange Bread Categories: Bread Yield: 12 Servings 4 -(up to) 5 Oranges 1 c Water 1 ts Baking soda 1 c Sugar 1 c Water 2 Eggs; beaten well 1 c Sugar 1 c Milk 3 1/4 c Flour 3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 3 tb Melted butter 1 c Nuts; chopped Peel oranges & cut rind into fairly large pieces, making sure there is no white. Place rind in saucepan with 1 cup water & baking soda & boil for 10 minutes. Wash the rind in a strainer & remove any left-on white. Cook the rind with 1 cup sugar & 1 cup water until mixture is thick & most of the syrup is gone. Beat eggs until light & add 1 cup sugar & milk.
