Title: Italian Sausage Strata Categories: Casseroles, Italian Yield: 4 Servings 1/2 lb Italian sausage 1/2 c Chopped green pepper 1 md Chopped onion 1 cn Drained tomatoes; (16 oz.) 1/2 Loaf Italian bread 3 Eggs 2 1/2 c Milk 1 ts Salt Grated Parmesan cheese Remove casing from sausage. Brown sausage in large skillet for 10 minutes, breaking it up with wooden spoon. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped green pepper and chopped onion. Cook another 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 15 minutes. Slice Italian bread. Place half the slices in bottom of a buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spread with sausage mixture. Top with remaining bread. Beat eggs; stir in milk and salt.
