Title: Molasses Sugar Cookies, 2nd Place Categories: Import Yield: 36 Servings 3/4 c Shortening; melted 1 c Sugar 1 Egg 1/4 c Molasses 2 ts Baking soda 2 c All-purpose flour 1/2 ts Cloves 1/2 ts Ginger 1 ts Cinnamon 1/2 ts Salt Melt shortening; allow to cool. Add sugar, egg and molasses to shortening. Sift flour, soda and spices together. Mix all together and form into 1-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 6 to 8 minutes in 350-degree oven. If taken out of oven when shiny, cookie will be softer. Leave on pan 1 minute before removing after taking out of oven.
