Title: Navajo Fr Bread Categories: Bread, Mexican, Cornmeal Yield: 1 Servings Oil 2 c Flour, unsifted 4 ts Baking powder 1 ts Salt 2/3 c Water, warm (maybe more) Cornmeal Put 2 to 3 inches oil in fryer and heat to 400 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add 1/2 cup warm water and continue adding water to reach the consistancy of bread dough. Tear off balls of dough. Roll out balls on a board lightly dusted with cornmeal to 1/4 inch thick. Punch a holl in the center of each piece. Fry bread one at a time, turning as soon as it becomes golden. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with honey or powderedsugar.
