Title: Oven Baked Corn Bread Categories: Breads Yield: 1 Servings 1/4 c Butter 1 c Cornmeal 1 c Flour 1/4 c Sugar 1 tb Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt (optional) 1 c Milk 1 Egg, beaten lightly Grease 8 or 9" square baking pan or 12 muffin pan. Melt butter. Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder & salt in bowl. Stir together butter, milk & egg in smaller bowl & stir into dry ingredients until just moistened. Pour batter into pan or spoon into muffin cups. Bake bread in oven at 400 until golden, & wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm.
