Title: Sister Sadie's Honey Cake Categories: Cakes Yield: 1 Servings 1 c Sugar 2 c Honey 4 Eggs 1/2 c Vegetable oil 1/2 c Cold strong coffee or flat -coca cola 3 c All-purpose flour 2 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Baking soda 1 ts Allspice 1 ts Cinnamon 1/4 c Sliced almonds Preheat oven to 325ø Grease and line with wax paper two 8 1/2x4 1/2 inch loaf pans. Cream sugar and honey together. Beat in eggs, oil and coffee or Coke. Sift dry ingredients together and beat in. Divide between pans, sprinkle with sliced almonds and bake until top springs back and cake shrinks from sides of pan, about 45 minutes. Tops may crack. Cool on wire racks before turning out.
