Title: Taco Salad #7 Categories: Salad Yield: 4 Servings 1 lb Hamburger or ground turkey 1 pk Taco seasoning OR chili -powder; garlic powder, -onion powder; salt and -pepper to taste 1 cn (16-oz) chili hot beans Lettuce Tomato (only if in season) Your choice of any or all of -the following: carrots; -broccoli; cauliflower, -onion 6 -(up to) 8 oz Shredded cheddar cheese Tortilla chips (preferrably -taco or nacho cheese -flavored) Poppy seed salad dressing From: Julie Sterchi Date: Sat, 3 Aug 1996 12:50:36 -0700 Brown the meat and drain. Add spices or prepare according to taco seasoning package directions. Add chili beans and heat through. Cool slightly. Tear up lettuce in a very large bowl and add rest of veggies. I usually assemble the rest right before serving. Add meat/beans and cheese. Toss. Pour on poppy seed dressing (using this makes a big difference in taste). Add crushed tortilla chips last. Serve.
