Title: Whole Wheat Spice Bread #2 Categories: Bread Yield: 12 Servings 2 c Whole-wheat flour 1 c All-purpose white flour 1 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Salt 1/4 ts Ground mace or cinnamon 1/4 ts Ground cloves or nutmeg 1/4 ts Ground allspice or cardamom 4 Eggs 1 c Vegetable oil 1 c Sugar 1/3 c Chopped walnuts 1 ts Vanilla; optional From: nuferv@ohsu.edu (Virginia Nufer,PC,SON) Date: 20 Aug 1994 13:05:26 -0400 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease well a 9-by-5-by-3-inch bread pan. In a large bowl, place the dry ingredients and stir to blend well before adding any lquids. Beat the eggs slightly; add the oil and sugar and continue to beat until well-mixed. Combine with the dry ingredients; add the chopped nuts and the vanilla (optional); blend well. Pour into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack. Yields 1 loaf. REC.FOOD.RECIPES From rec.food.cooking archives.
