Title: Okra Soup Categories: Soup Yield: 8 Servings 2 lb Lean beef; cut into cubes 1 Onion; sliced 4 tb Shortening 12 c Water Salt Pepper 2 c Sliced okra 1/2 c Uncooked regular rice 1 c Sliced tomatoes Brown cubed beef and sliced onion in hot shortening. Add water, and salt and pepper to taste. Let cook slowly until beef is tender. Add sliced okra, rice, and sliced tomatoes. Let cook until beef is very tender and vegetables are cooked.
