125 g Flour
4 ts Sugar; (20 g)
15 g Yeast
5 g Salt
100 ml Oil
1 Egg
25 ml Milk
1 tb Margarine; (15 g)
50 g Mixed fruit; chopped fine
A handful of cashewnuts;
-chopped
A handful of raisins
1 Egg yolk
A little water
A little jam

BOIL sugar with very little water till it reaches a syrupy consistency.
Sieve flour. Mix yeast, salt, sugar, oil, egg and milk. Add to the flour
and knead to a soft dough. Keep the dough aside, covered with a wet cloth
for 45 minutes. Roll the dough into a rectangular shape and apply margarine
over it and fold it again. Keep it aside for 10 minutes. Again roll the
dough into a rectangular shape of even thickness, sprinkle mixed fruit,
cashewnuts and raisins. Then cut the rectangle into two pieces and place
one on top of the other. Then cut it into long strips and shape them into
coils. Keep them on a greased tray for about 20 minutes. Brush with egg
yolk and water solution. Bake at 400 o F for 20 minutes. Remove from the
oven and brush with sugar syrup and jam. Serve hot.
