Title: Meatballs And Shells Stew Categories: Easy, Meats, Pasta Yield: 4 Servings 1/2 lb Ground beef 1/4 c Uncooked long-grain rice 1 Egg, beaten 1/8 ts Black pepper 2 1/2 c Water 1 cn (14 1/2 oz.) whole tomatoes, -broken up 1 Envelope ( 1 oz.) onion soup -mix 1/2 ts Italian seasoning 1/4 ts Dried thyme leaves 1/4 ts Garlic powder 1/2 c Small shell pasta In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, rice, egg and black pepper. Shape into 1 inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet or piece of waxed paper; set aside. In a medium saucepan, combine water, tomatoes, onion soup mix, Italian seasoning, thyme and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Carefully drop the meatballs into the boiling stew mixture and gently stir in shell pasta. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer 25 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and pasta is tender.
