Title: Tomato And Basil Sandwiches with Olive Mayonnaise

1/4 c Mayonnaise
8 Kalamata olives; pitted,
-minced
(or other brine-cured black
-olives)
12 sl Country-style bread -;
-(1/2"-thick ovals)
1 c Fresh basil leaves -;
-(loosely packed),
; chopped coarse
3 lg Tomatoes; each cut into
Four 1/2"-thick slices

In a small bowl combine well the mayonnaise and the olives, spread the
mixture on one side of the bread slices, and sprinkle it with the basil.
Divide the tomato slices among half the bread slices, season them with
pepper, and top them with the remaining bread. This recipe yields 6
sandwiches.
